Chan Wei Tuck Music

Picture

Chan Wei Tuck is a pianist and composer who studied at West Virginia University, where he completed his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in piano performance. During his studies, he learned from several experienced teachers and also participated in masterclasses with well-known pianists, which helped shape his musical skills and style.

In addition to performing, Wei Tuck is also an award-winning composer. He won first place at the Free Hand 2022: Second Malaysian Contemporary Composers Piano Festival, and received third prize in the international professional category of the Golden Key Piano Composition Competition in 2019.

Some of his music has been specially commissioned. For example, his piece Motion was selected as a test piece for a major international piano competition at UCSI University. Another work, Perhentian No. 1, was inspired by a painting by Malaysian artist Suzlee Ibrahim and was commissioned by ASWARA (The National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage).
